In addition to being Director of Yoga, Teacher Trainings and Quality for PRACTICE, Lisa is proud to be a founder of the Nourishment program at Practice. Lisa has been a part of the holistic health and lifestyle movement, and an environmentalist for the past 30 years. A passionate natural gourmet/farm to table and macrobiotic cook, Lisa wholeheartedly believes in the healing/transformational power of food. As chairperson of her children's elementary school Nutrition Committee for many years, she worked with the district to make school meals healthier adding vegetarian/vegan choices every day, regular salad bar and soup offerings and milk free of BGH. Lisa founded a neighborhood organic food cooperative, partnered in a natural food market and raised two beautiful healthy young men who were weaned on carrot/green juices and enthusiastically eat kale, sea vegetables, adzuki beans and quinoa!
She is currently becoming certified through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition as a health and wellness nutrition coach. She is a specialist in Clean Living Eating and Detox Cleansing to enhance life force energy for a more direct experience of vibrant robust health and happiness.
Deb McElligott (DNP, ANP-BC, HWNC-BC) is a Holistic Nurse Practitioner, Health & Wellness Nurse Coach, Faculty at the Hofstra-NSLIJ School of Medicine and the International Nurse Coach Association. Her nursing career spans 40 years with experience in surgery, integrative medicine, administration and education. Deborah has practiced in both acute and out-patient settings, and now focuses on health promotion, well-being and healing through individual and group coaching. As part of the interdisciplinary team she collaborates in the cardiac wellness program and cancer survivorship.
Additionally, Deborah frequently lectures and conducts programs for health professionals interested in self-care and integrative health both locally and internationally.
She has published research in the area of integrative therapies, health promotion, healing, and integrative nurse coaching.
At PRACTICE, Deborah accepts appointments for one time consults, and 4 week or 12 week programs.
